Old Tin Roof Necklace Collection
The story behind "Old Tin Roof"... Yukon artist, Esther Winter has combined the beautiful richness of recycled antique roof tin with other materials such as copper and sterling silver to create this unique jewellery.
The antique tin roof was originally an “Imperial Gasoline Can”. In the 1920's, the can was flattened and recycled to make a roof for the log cabin pictured below. This historic cabin situated on the artist's property in Mayo, Yukon was leaning precariously and had to be dismantled. Esther saved the tin roof and has recycled it a second time in this beautiful jewellery!
The names chosen for the Old Tin Roof recycled jewellery pieces are names of actual women who lived in the Mayo area during the early 1900's.
Please Note: Our jewellery is handcrafted and may vary slightly from one another. Each piece of antique tin is unique which we feel adds to its appeal.
